Deafblind Microsoft 365 Governance, SharePoint Intranet & File Share Migration

Deafblind UK is a national charity in the United Kingdom supporting people with sight and hearing loss to live the lives they want. Founded in 1928, Deafblind UK has its headquarters in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. The charity help people to live with deafblindness by making connections, and building their confidence and independence through a range of services and campaigns. 

Projects:

•  Microsoft 365 Governance and Compliance – Inteknix Limited was commissioned to conduct thorough assessments of the Deafblind’s current setup, identify potential risks, and provide tailored recommendations to enhance security, manage user access, and optimise data management strategies. We provided a comprehensive service aimed at helping Deafblind effectively manage and secure their Microsoft 365 environment. This service encompasses a range of activities, including the development of governance policies, ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards, and implementing best practices for data protection and privacy. 
• SharePoint Intranet – Inteknix limited engaged with Deafblind to perform an in-depth assessment of their business processes, communication needs, and information management requirements to understand their objectives and specific challenges. We successfully designed and implemented a customised SharePoint Intranet platform for 14 various departments and teams from the ground up, tailored to meet the identified needs. This includes setting up secure, user-friendly portals for team collaboration, document management, and internal communications, ensuring seamless integration with the client’s existing IT infrastructure. We also focused on user training and adoption, ensuring that employees are comfortable and proficient with the new system.
• File Share Migration – Due to issues with Data Integrity, Access Control, Network Dependency, and Performance, Deafblind decided to move away from File Share. We recommended migrating File Share to SharePoint, a powerful platform for Collaboration and Document Management. SharePoint offers several benefits, including improved Collaboration, advanced Document Management, Enhanced Security, Integration with the Microsoft Office Suite, Remote Access, Workflow Automation, and more. We successfully migrated hundreds of thousands of documents to SharePoint using the Sharegate Migration tool.
