Every business has processes that take longer than they should. Most of that time is lost in the handoffs between steps — not in the work itself.
AI process automation applies artificial intelligence to end-to-end business processes: streamlining workflows, removing bottlenecks, and reducing the manual steps that sit between people, systems, and decisions. Inteknix designs and delivers intelligent process automation for UK organisations, built on Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, and AI Builder — within the systems you already use.

The challenge
Manual processes persist because they work — just slowly, and at a cost that is easy to normalise. Requests move through email. Approvals wait on whoever is in that day. Data is re-keyed from one system to the next. Each step is small, but multiplied across a team and a year, the cost is significant.
The other reason is uncertainty: teams know a process is inefficient but not which parts can safely be automated, what that would involve, or whether the disruption is worth it. So the process stays as it is, and the workarounds accumulate.
AI process automation resolves both problems — identifying exactly where automation adds value, and delivering it in a way that keeps people in control of the decisions that matter.
The service
AI process automation involves reviewing how a process actually runs, redesigning the workflow to remove unnecessary manual steps, and applying AI where the work involves unstructured inputs — documents, emails, or free-text requests — that traditional automation cannot handle alone.
Inteknix delivers this end to end: from process mapping and opportunity assessment through to build, testing, and continuous improvement. Every automated process includes exception handling, audit trails, and human review where required.
What you receive
Every process automation assessment produces a defined set of outputs, so you know exactly what you are paying for:
A map of the processes in scope, showing manual steps, handoffs, and bottlenecks
Prioritised processes assessed by value, feasibility, and risk
Data, system, and readiness findings
Recommended technologies and automation approach
Indicative scope, costs, and implementation priorities
Where it helps
The best candidates are processes that are high-volume, involve predictable decision points, and currently depend on manual coordination. These are the process types Inteknix most commonly improves.
Purchase requests, leave requests, document sign-off, and change approvals — automatically routed, tracked, and logged, with reminders and escalation built in.
Employee onboarding, customer setup, and internal service requests — where multiple teams and systems need to act in sequence without anything falling through the gaps.
Processes where information is manually copied between systems — replaced with automated extraction, validation, and entry into SharePoint, Dataverse, or connected line-of-business systems.
Work that slows down when something unusual happens — automated identification, flagging, and routing of exceptions so they are handled consistently rather than lost in inboxes.
Automated aggregation and reporting on how processes are performing — giving leaders visibility of throughput, delays, and bottlenecks without manual preparation.
Why Inteknix
Inteknix approaches process automation as a business improvement exercise, not a technology purchase. The starting point is always the process itself — how work actually moves through your organisation — followed by the right combination of workflow redesign, automation, and AI to improve it.
Deep expertise across Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, AI Builder, SharePoint, and Dataverse means intelligent process automation can usually be delivered within the Microsoft environment you already have — avoiding new platforms, new licences, and unnecessary complexity.
Client story
Sanderson's Finance team processes hundreds of purchase orders every month, and until recently every one of them followed the same manual path: save the document, read it, extract the details, check related records, prepare the data. Because each customer uses different layouts and levels of detail, the team previously had to manually save documents, read each purchase order, extract key information, check related records, and prepare the data for further processing.
The purchase order process was time-consuming, inconsistent, and heavily reliant on manual review. Purchase orders often contained varied formatting, missing information, or unclear details, which increased the risk of data entry errors and slowed down the Finance team’s ability to process orders efficiently. The team needed a way to automatically capture incoming purchase orders, extract key information, validate the data, and submit the purchase order into their third-party financial software without relying on repeated manual entry.
A Microsoft 365-based automation solution using Power Automate, SharePoint, AI Builder, and a Power Apps review interface. The solution monitors a designated mailbox for incoming purchase orders, captures attachments, converts files where needed, extracts key purchase order details using AI, and stores the documents and structured metadata in a central SharePoint location. It also enriches the extracted information using existing business data, allows Finance users to review, correct, and approve records, and integrates with the client’s third-party financial software to submit approved purchase orders for processing.
Inteknix redesigned the process end to end — removing the manual steps entirely rather than speeding them up. Documents now move from inbox to structured, validated data without anyone re-keying anything, and the Finance team's involvement starts where judgement is actually needed.
How we work
Inteknix delivers process automation through five structured stages. Each stage has a defined purpose and a clear output, so you always know where the work stands and what comes next.
STEP 1
We map how the processes in scope actually run today — the steps, handoffs, systems, and workarounds — and where time and quality are being lost.
STEP 2
We assess each improvement opportunity for technical feasibility, likely impact, and readiness, including whether your current data and systems can support the automation.
STEP 3
We rank the opportunities by value, complexity, and delivery risk — agreeing a set of priorities that balances quick, visible wins with deeper process improvements.
STEP 4
We design the target process and automation approach — workflow logic, AI components, integrations, and human review points — scoped and costed before any build begins.
STEP 5
We build, test, and roll out the automated process, monitor how it performs in real operation, and refine it as volumes and requirements evolve.
FAQs
AI process automation applies artificial intelligence to business processes to reduce manual steps, handle unstructured inputs like documents and emails, and streamline how work moves between people and systems. Inteknix delivers it for UK organisations using Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, and AI Builder.
Cost depends on the number and complexity of the processes in scope, so Inteknix defines it after an initial discovery conversation. A process automation assessment is a contained, fixed-scope piece of work with the cost defined upfront, and delivery is scoped and costed per process before any build begins.
An assessment is typically completed within a few weeks. Individual process automations can often be delivered quickly once designed, while multi-process programmes take longer — timescales are agreed during scoping so nothing is open-ended.
Yes, in most cases. Existing workflows are usually the best candidates, because the process logic is already understood. Inteknix maps the current workflow, removes unnecessary steps, and automates the rest — rather than asking you to adopt a new way of working first.
Common examples include approvals and sign-off, onboarding, request handling, data transfer between systems, exception handling, and reporting. The strongest candidates are high-volume processes with predictable steps that currently rely on manual coordination.
RPA (robotic process automation) mimics human clicks and keystrokes on top of existing interfaces, which can be fragile when systems change. AI process automation works through proper integrations and APIs where possible, and adds AI to handle unstructured inputs — producing automation that is more robust and easier to maintain.
Yes — Microsoft is Inteknix’s core specialism. Process automation is typically delivered with Power Automate, AI Builder, SharePoint, and Dataverse, within the Microsoft 365 environment many UK organisations already have.
Yes. Inteknix supports the full lifecycle: process mapping and assessment, solution design, build, testing, rollout, and ongoing improvement — either as a complete engagement or in stages.
That is exactly what the assessment answers. Inteknix ranks the identified opportunities by value, feasibility, and risk, and agrees the priorities with you — so automation starts where it will deliver the clearest, fastest return.
Inteknix can help you identify which processes to automate first, what that would involve technically, and how to deliver measurable improvement within your existing Microsoft environment.
